Three Concerts for the Weekend in Latvia

This weekend will finally start to feel like autumn. So, to keep you warm, we have selected three musical experiences in different parts of Latvia.

LNSO Season Opening

The Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) is opening its 99th season at the Latgale Embassy GORS (Pils Street 4, Rēzekne) on September 21. 

The concert program includes compositions by Arturs Maskats, Gustav Holst, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Cēsis Concert Hall 10th birthday

The birthday of the Vidzeme/Cēsis Concert Hall will reflect two of its main pillars and most distinctive features - the sound of the cello and the music of Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks and will conclude with Ludwig van Beethoven's masterpiece, a musical fantasy that will allow the hall to shine in all its splendor.

Antonín Dvořák, Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in B minor
Ludwig van Beethoven, Overture "Egmont"
Peter Vasks, Meditation for Violin and Strings "The Lonely Angel"
Ludwig van Beethoven, Fantasy for Piano, Chorus, and Orchestra

Meow Fest

If you love rock and cats, the musician Ren Cricher and the association "Animal Help Service" will be waiting for you on September 21 at the Laska Club on Vagonu Street 21 at 18:00. 

The concert will gather funds for veterinary services and the maintenance of animals at the association. Entrance is by donation.
