'For!' political party board resigns

Take note – story published 1 year ago

The entire board of the political party 'For!', which constitutes part of the 'For Development/For!' political alliance has quit, the party announced October 4.

After four years in government, "For Development/For!" narrowly failed to overcome the 5% barrier to enter the 14th Saeima, winding up with a tantalising 4.97%.

The full board of Par! resigned, taking responsibility for the disappointing results, the party said. The board members will continue to perform their duties until an extraordinary party congress, which will be convened on December 3 which plans to elect a new board, a new chairman and decide on the party's strategy for the next four years. High on the agenda is likely to be whether or not to continue in tandem with 'For Development' or to split.
