The current support for Ukrainian civilians was set to expire on December 31, 2022, and therefore the regulatory framework was needed to ensure the continuation of the aid until the end of 2023 under the Ukrainian Civilians Support Law, with a grant fund of up to EUR 688,000.
Data from the National Education Information System show that since February 24, 2022, 312 Ukrainian civilians have been accepted into higher education institutions. Between September and December 2022, 94 Ukrainian civilians received study grants of €140 a month.
It is planned that up to 260 students will need support in 2023.
Researchers from Ukraine will also continue to receive support. Scholarship support of €900 per month for academic and scientific staff is projected to be at a similar intensity this year as between September 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022 — IZM forecasts that support will need to be provided to up to 30 researchers.
