Startup House Riga secures funding, names CEO

Startup House Riga, the center of the local startup community, has secured funding from the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency (RITA) and named a new CEO, Kristians Jenčiuss, reports Labs of Latvia.

RITA’s planned co-financing for Startup House Riga over the next three years will support startups and provide them with opportunities to acquire new knowledge, participate in various networking events, and meet with various mentors.

“We are very pleased that the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency has recognized the foundation TechHub Riga’s many years of investment in the development of the startup ecosystem and has decided to support our new home, Startup House Riga. The support will help grow larger and build up the “muscles” for even larger projects, ensuring that even more new and successful companies will be born in Latvia and Riga,” said Andris K. Bērziņš, Chairman of the Board of TechHub Riga and co-founder of Startup House Riga.

Startups will be able to receive this support by becoming members of Startup House Riga. The implementation of the support program and the further development will be led by the new CEO, Kristians Jenčiuss. Kristians has experience in founding startups and raising funds. He has also worked in the hospitality and finance sectors and is an excellent fit for leading the startup community.

“I am thrilled to join the Startup House Riga team as CEO. After gaining experience in the hospitality, finance, and IT sectors, as well as co-founding the startup Swotzy, I am confident that my energy and knowledge will be a real contribution to members. I am here to take care of startups – both here on-site and outside. Together with Andris, James, and the entire team, I am ready to grow our strength and reach new heights together,” says Kristians Jenčiuss, the new CEO of Startup House.
