Three Rīga tram routes get a bit quicker

Tram rides along part of routes 1, 7 and 11 in the Latvian capital will get a bit speedier from July 15, according to information from Rīga City Council.

Changes to traffic lights on Krišjāņa Barona, Lastādijas and Latgales streets now give trams priority, with the result that the time it takes trams to complete their routes has been improved.

On tram route 1 in the direction of Jugla and in the direction of Imanta, the travel time will be reduced by 3 minutes. On tram route 11 in the direction of Ausekļa Street and in the direction of Mežaparks, the travel time will be reduced by 2 minutes. On tram route 7 in the direction of Ausekļa Street and in the direction of Ķengarags, the travel time will be reduced by 2 minutes.

The departure times from the end points on all three routes will not change.
