Photos: airBaltic gets new Airbus

On Wednesday, July  24, Latvian airline airBaltic welcomed its 48th Airbus A220-300 aircraft with registration number YL-ABV in Rīga.

This is the second Airbus A220-300 aircraft delivered to the airline this year. The airline has ordered a total of 50 Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

As of May 2020, airBaltic has operated all its flights exclusively with this aircraft model.

airBaltic said it has carried more than 16,276,000 passengers on A220-300 aircraft to date. In total, the airline has operated around 178,000 flights and 392,000 flight hours.

In November last year, the company announced a contract for the purchase of 30 more aircraft of this type, while retaining the right to purchase a further 20 aircraft of this type. With this order, airBaltic plans to increase its A220-300 fleet to 100 aircraft.
