Free public transport in Rīga for New Year

On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, December 31 and January 1, public transport in Rīga will be provided free of charge, the Rīgas Satiksme (RS) public transport company has confirmed. 

"For the convenience of visitors to festive events, additional services will be provided on several public transport routes on New Year's Eve. Also, there will be no charge for parking in the parking lots managed by "Rīgas satiksme", except for the underground parking lot on K. Valdemāra street 5a," RS said December 30.

On December 31 and January 1, public transport will run according to holiday schedules. On these days, passengers will be able to travel on buses, trams, and trolleybuses for free, and tickets, including code tickets, do not need to be registered.

Extra services will be organized on tram routes 1, 5 and 7; on trolleybus routes 4, 9, 15, 17 and 18; and on bus routes 3, 9, combined 12, 23, 26 (via Akmens tiltus), 24, 25, 37, 51 and 53.
