Klotiņš, Stobova take seats in Saeima

The Saeima has confirmed the mandates of Jurģis Klotiņš (National Alliance) and Ilze Stobova (Latvia First), who have been given the Saeima seats in place of the European Parliament-elects.

Before the Saeima vote on the confirmation of their seats in the 14th Saeima, Klotiņš and Stobova took the solemn oath as usual.

The changes in the composition of the Saeima are necessary because the deputies Rihards Kols (National Alliance) and Vilis Krištopans (Latvia First) have been elected to the European Parliament.

Klotiņš was elected to the 14th Saeima from the National Alliance list in the Riga constituency. He had previously been a temporary member of the Saeima and served on the Education, Science, and Culture Commission and the Public Expenditure and Audit Commission, as well as on the Subcommittee on Constitutional and Judicial Policy and the Subcommittee on Reducing Inequalities.

Stobova was elected to the 14th Saeima on the list of the Latvia First party in the Latgale constituency. According to the Central Election Commission, she holds a Master's degree in Educational Management and Political Science from the University of Latvia and has worked as a teacher at the Riga Valdis Zālītis Primary School.
