The 11-month service in the National Armed Forces is scheduled to begin in July 2025 with 830 recruits. Taking into account the experience of previous conscriptions in the defense sector and the dynamics of volunteering,
it is expected that the required number of volunteers will not be reached and a random selection will be necessary.
The random selection of the recruits will take place on November 26 this year.
The 11-month State Defense Service in July 2025 will be carried out in the National Armed Forces at four locations: the Land Forces Mechanised Infantry Brigade at the military base "Ādaži", the Air Force and Home Guard 2nd Vidzeme Brigade in Stāmeriena, Home Guard 3rd Latgale Brigade in Lūznava and the Air Force in Lielvārde.
