Latvian Defense Minister on UK visit to discuss drones

From Wednesday, August 28 to Thursday, August 29, Minister of Defense Andris Sprūds is visiting London, the United Kingdom, on a working visit.

During the working visit, Sprūds will meet with Luke Pollard, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for National Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom. The parties will discuss topical issues and challenges of regional security, bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense, including the Drone Coalition, according to a release from the Latvian Ministry of Defense.

In order to promote international industrial cooperation and investment attraction for the Drone Coalition, the Minister of Defense will participate in a UK-Latvian drone industry event, where he will meet with entrepreneurs from both countries, as well as get acquainted with the latest innovations in unmanned aircraft.

Also during the visit, Sprūds will give interviews to various UK media outlets.

In order to support Ukraine and develop the capabilities of allied drones, Latvia and the UK jointly lead the Drone Coalition.
