Charity concert Wednesday to support Ukrainian and Latvian school pupils

The "Tavi Draugi' ("Your Friends") association will be hosting a charity concert on Wednesday, August 28, from from 18.00 to 22.00 to raise funds for Latvian and Ukrainian students.

The concert will take place at the association's storage hangar in Rīga, at Ventspils iela 50, and will feature several big name acts including Citi zēni, Atvara, Katrīna Dimanta and Zeltrači, Rīta stienis, as well as DJ Ķilkuts.

Entrance to the "Angāra saulrieti" ("Hangar sunsets") concert will be by donations to support students in Latvia and Ukraine. Visitors are also welcome to bring material donations, which will be very useful for Latvian and Ukrainian students: school bags, stationery, sports kit, shoes etc.

Part of the financial donations obtained at the concert will go towards the creation of a children's playground at Aleksandrova elementary school - an institution founded by the municipality of Krāslava region, where around 90 children of different ages study special elementary education programs for students with mental disabilities.

The association "Tavi draugi" supports the school with supplies of food, clothing, hygiene and household goods, while collecting donations for the creation of a safe, beautiful and functional children's playground. It will be suitable for children of all ages, including children with special needs.

"We invite you to close the summer season by doing a good deed – the new school year is approaching and its beginning is especially difficult for students in Ukraine, who start and continue their studies in war conditions. We have also received a request for help from Latvian schools and poor families, because they also lack funds for everything necesary. There are many needs and every donation will help make the start of school more peaceful and happy for many Ukrainian and Latvian children," says Beāte Bēvalde, organizer of the "Angāra saulrieti" concert.
