In the afternoon, thunderstorms will start forming over Latvia, with sharp wind gusts of up to 20-24 m/s, very heavy rainfall, and hail is also possible.
In addition, a thunderstorm with extremely heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of the west of the country in the evening, the LVGMC warns.

Thunderstorm clouds will move further northeast and the storm will continue into the evening and the first half of the night. Residents have been urged to reduce outdoor activities and stay indoors during the storm.
