Noiseproof wall to be built along Vidzeme Highway

In Sigulda municipality, on the left side of the Vidzeme highway (A2) along the village of Gauja, the construction of an anti-noise wall has started, Latvian State Roads (LVC) said.

It is planned that the work will continue until the end of the year.

The works will be carried out mainly on the shoulder of the road and traffic will not be impeded, but may be restricted in the right-hand lane for some time. The speed on the section will not be reduced.

A combined noise wall system will be built on reinforced concrete block foundations for almost two kilometers. The height of the wall will be 3.5-4.5 meters.

The works are being carried out by Tilts Ltd for a contract price of EUR 2.37 million. The project was designed by SIA Projekts EAE, and construction supervision is provided by AS Ceļuprojekts.
