Free public transport during Rīga City Festival this weekend

On August 17 and 18 the Rīga annual city festival takes place. The city's residents and guests will be able to travel for free on buses, trolleybuses and trams, as well as on additional services of several transport services.

There will also be no charge for parking in the parking lots managed by "Rīgas satiksme" (Riga Traffic) on the sides of the streets, said Rīgas satiksme. 

During the Rīga Festival events, from August 17 to August 18 at approximately 10:00 additional public transport services will be organized from the city center on the following routes:

  • - Trams 1, 5, 7, 11;
  • - Trolleybuses 4, 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22, 27;
  • - routes 3, 11, combined routes 12, 23, 26 (over the Akmens Bridge), bus routes 18, 24, 25, 37, 50, 51, 53.

On Saturday, August 17, starting at 18:00, buses of routes 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 21, 23, 25, 26, 32, 38, 39, 43, 54, 55, and 63 towards Pārdaugava will make an additional stop at the stop "Grēcinieku iela".

On August 17 and 18, Rīga municipal paid parking lots operated by "Rīgas satiksme" will be free of charge, except for the underground parking lot on K. Valdemāra Street 5a near the Congress House, where parking will be charged according to the current rates.
