Military drills to take place in Jēkabpils district

From July 27 to 28, Jēkabpils region will host planned military exercises of the National Guardsmen of the 56th Combat Support Battalion of the 3rd Latgale Brigade of the National Guard.

The aim of the exercises will be "maintaining and improving the combat skills of National Guardsmen and the skills to protect the areas of responsibility of the National Guard units" according to a reelase from the NAtional Armed Forces (NBS).

Training will be carried out both in daylight and in the dark. The military exercises will take place in areas agreed with the municipality of Jēkabpils region, legal entities and private individuals. 

During the training, military equipment, soldiers and national guards with small arms will be on the move in Jēkabpils region, so residents should not be surprised by such a sight and are asked to adopt an understanding attitude. Training ammunition and combat simulations will be used, which make noise but do not threaten people's health or life in any way.
