Curtain rises on another Homo Novus theater festival

The Homo Novus theater festival kicks off today, and as always offers a very varied and challenging program.

The international festival of new theater "Homo Novus" is being held this year for the twentieth time, and while several of the festival's events are free this year, the bad news is that many of them had pre-registrations, and the website already shows that there are no more tickets available.

Also free of charge, but without a pre-registration mark, the program includes presentations of several upcoming works, including the performative installation "Symphony of Loneliness SOS" created jointly by the Latvian artist Katrīna Neiburga and the Danish group "MØR collective", which through humor, music and bright images reflects the sense of community and the strange relations that develop between neighbors.

Another very intriguing event is expected at the Puppet Theater, where on September 1 the Czech troupe "Borsch" will twice perform a version of the fairy tale ballet "Nutcracker" for garlic, ginger, eggplant, six walnuts and one rat, accompanied by the iconic music of Tchaikovsky and Corelli.

It is worth getting acquainted with the full program of the festival to find out more and you'll find the English-language version here.
