The estimated cost is €142 million, with the capital planning to borrow almost €106 million from the country.
The projects are planned to be implemented sequentially so as not to create unpredictable consequences for the organization of traffic. It is planning to start executing the first of them this year, said Oksana Dumpe, spokeswoman for the City Development Department of Riga City Council.
"We are talking about a high-readiness project to tidy up the Mūkusala embankment.[..] Construction could start already this year. We are aware that these are major investments and links with the Rail Baltica infrastructure – a pedestrian and cycling road across Daugava. The Mūkusala Street and the embankment are the area where both projects will be integrated. We have divided this project in several rounds. “And the first one could be seen in the next two years,” said Dumpe.
