Latvian police drone spies from the skies on dangerous drivers

Latvian State Police have released drone footage showing some extremely poor driving on highways that have recently seen some serious road traffic accidents.

On Friday, July 12, while monitoring road traffic safety, the State Police drone recorded nine violators of road traffic rules who made reckless maneuvers on the Liepāja highway (A9) near the turn to Lapsāmi and on the Ventspils highway (A10) before the turn to Kalnciems.

Drivers were seen regularly overtaking in "Overtaking prohibited" zones close to junctions. The State Police stopped the drivers it spotted and handed them tickets. A fine of 55 euros is applicable for ignoring the "Overtaking prohibited" sign.

The State Police called on drivers to obey road signs and follow the traffic rules in order not to endanger themselves and others by performing dangerous maneuvers.
