Braže also extended an invitation for South Korea to send an expert to work at NATO's Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (STRATCOMCOE) in Rīga and for South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul to visit Latvia – an invitation which he has reportedly already accepted.
“Latvia and the Republic of Korea are like-minded partners in the security sector, and we are aware that if Russia’s aggression succeeds, it will negatively affect peace and security across the globe. Let me thank the Republic of Korea for condemning Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and I call for continued support to Ukraine. Compliance with the principles of the United Nations Charter underpins the world order,” Braže said during her meeting with Cho Tae-yul, according to an account from the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As previously reported, Latvia initiated and is leading a drone coalition together with Great Britain. Since the founding of the coalition in February of this year, Latvia has ensured the delivery of 3,000 combat drones of various types and performance to Ukraine.
The drone coalition currently includes 16 member states - Latvia, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and Sweden, and other countries are invited to join, too.
